Frequently Asked Questions

Answered by June,
Owner and Technician of BOOM LASH & CO.

Q: Can this eyelash extension remover be used to remove eyelash adhesive from other stores?

A: Yes absolutely!!  I use an XL version of the same product on my clients.

Though some lash salons use a lot of glue so you may have to apply the remover a few times to get it all off, but it WILL remove any and all eyelash extensions from any lash store.

Q: Should remove my lash extensions with my eyes open or eyes closed?

A: It is fine to remove lash extensions with both eyes open and eyes closed, it really depends on which method you’re comfortable with.

At my salon, I remove lash extensions for my clients with their eyes are closed,

However after lots of trial and error, I found that when I remove eyelash extensions on myself, doing them with my eyes open is the way to go.  I find myself squeezing my eyes a lot when removing my extensions eyes closed, and seem to squeeze product into my eyes that way.

Watch the clip above, or click on this link here to see how I remove my extensions eyes open!

Q: What happens if remover gets into my eyes? How can I prevent this?

A: If the product gets into the eyes it will sting!!

I highly recommend doing one eye at a time!

Q: What should I do if remover gets into my eyes?

A: If remover gets into your eyes, remove all excess product with a DRY tissue paper before rinsing eyes with water.

Q: Why is it important to remove the excess product first with a dry tissue paper before using a wet tissue paper?

A: This is a great question.  The active ingredient in all eyelash extension adhesives, Cyanoacrylate, is cured with humidity so water will cause any adhesive to harden.  This is why we should always remove any softened adhesive and excess remover with a dry tissue paper before wiping with a wet tissue or rinsing with water.

Q: What is the different between a gel remover and a cream remover?

A: Removers with gel consistencies are thinner and runnier.  I don’t recommend gel removers even for professional lash technicians, because it can easily get into the clients eyes.

Removers with cream consistencies are thicker and will not get into the clients eyes, but will take longer for the adhesive to emulsify- resulting in a longer removal process.

I love this eyelash extension remover because of it’s gel cream consistency.  The texture is thick enough not get into the eyes easily, and thin enough for a quick and seamless removal time.

Q: Can I use this product if I have sensitive skin?

A: Yes absolutely! This remover is super gentle, easy to use, and suitable for sensitive skin!

For clients who do not want remover touching their skin, apply a non woven tape as a barrier between the skin and eyelash extension remover.

I always use the non woven medical tape at my salon when I remove my client’s eyelash extensions, however, I apply remover directly on my skin when removing my own eyelash extensions.
